About the Organization
Established in 1804, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University is one of Ukraine's oldest and leading classical research universities, with a strong academic reputation in Eastern Europe. Today, the University comprises 28 faculties and educational and research institutes, serves more than 16,000 students and trainees, and brings together nearly 4,000 staff members. It offers training across 115 specialties and specialisations, covering the full spectrum of modern classical university education.
Karazin University is actively engaged in international cooperation and EU-funded programmes, including Erasmus+, Horizon Europe / Horizon 2020, Digital Europe, DAAD, Jean Monnet, GIZ, USAID, and other international initiatives. Its project portfolio reflects strong expertise in educational innovation, digital transformation, inclusion, internationalisation, research cooperation, and capacity building.
In the fields of media, digital education, and resilience, the University builds on the expertise of the Education and Research Institute of Sociology and Media Communications, the Department of Media Communications, the University Media Studio, and the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies. These units contribute to the development of curricula, digital learning tools, media and information literacy, new media studies, AI-related awareness, and innovative learning environments, including MOOC-based education and VR/AR-supported formats.
The University leads the development of the competence framework and training modules, contributing its academic, research, and technological expertise to support high-quality educational content and innovative learning approaches.
